Hey, I'm a female solo traveller and I was wondering whether it makes sense to travel to Albania October-December. My initial plan is a month in Durres, a month in Tirana and a month in Skopje but I'm thinking to change Durres to Podgorica or Sarajevo. I like city vibes but I'm worried that off season many places will close early. Serbia is a really amazing country. Serbia is a top adventure, culture and nature holiday destination offering crazy nightlife in Belgrade, amazing food in Nis, and cool hiking spots in Fruska Gora. I only went to Belgrade but it’s definitely worth it. I was just in Albania for a week (Tirana and Shkoder), and it is absolutely safe. Transportation information is difficult to come by, so you just have to ask around. From my experience furgons (10 seater vans) just have a certain corner that they leave from when they fill up. There's no reason to be concerned.
1. The Cyclops’ Eye (Syri i Ciklopit) The Cyclops’ Eye is one of the most gorgeous natural attractions close to Tirana. And it is a quiet and hidden spot, because only the locals know about this hidden gem. Essentially, the Cyclops’ Eye (in Albanian Syri i Ciklopit) is a natural pool in the middle nature.

2. Safety. One of the first things you need to know before booking a trip to Albania is that this country is a very safe place to travel. You can travel with your children, with a loved one, or on your own (including women) without worrying about your safety, as in other countries.
Beer and rakia are, save for some upscale places in Prishtina, almost always 1 euro each, my average meal at restaurants was 4 euro. Being American in Kosovo is a bizarre but positive experience. Kosovo loves the US more than the US loves the US. There's random American shit everywhere, flags and monuments and streets named after our

Hi there! I will be traveling to Albania in a month to visit my friend who is currently in the Peace Corp working in Shkoder. I have been reading many reddit posts, travel blogs, and of course, listening to my friends advice, however, I have noticed that most of my reading is from over a year ago.

Because it isn't Muslim. Religion in Albania and Kosovo is more like family tradition. If a grandfather is a Muslim, the father will say he's a Muslim even if he doesn't know anything about Islam. The same applies for the grandson. Also bear in mind that census results are manipulated and very inaccurate as well.

After Croatia it would probably be Bulgaria (Plovdiv, Varna, Sofia), Albania (Butrint), Serbia and Romania, they all have lots of cool places of historical interest. Bosnia and Montenegro would be on the bottom of the list, but Mostar and Kotor are obviously pretty cool places.
